The course is coming together for the Sea Otter Dual Slalom. I am working to make it very memorable for all.

Racing
I must keep positive when racing, and this is extra important when I am suffering in the race. I must fight hard when racing and dig deep to keep fighting hard and staying positive. Some days I may be feeling great, while other days not great. It is all about believing in my training and ability, staying positive, and fighting hard.

Wanting More
I was the series winner at the TBF race this weekend in Folsom. I did not race my best in the series final race, but had a very good series of races and I am very thankful for that. This was the 2nd year in a row I was the series winner for my division.
I want to improve. I want to race better, stronger, and faster.
I want to learn from racing against stronger riders and learn from times when I struggle.
I want more.

A Chance
I ride because others do not have a chance to. Others have had their chances taken away, and now I ride in their honor.
Life is a gift and it can be taken away any moment.
Just to have a chance to ride gives me the motivation and desire to do my best, as others are less fortunate and do not even have a chance to ride or race.
I must always try and work harder, rest and recover better, and then go at it again.
Because I have a chance to.

Finish Line
Making it first to the finish line is the goal. Yet the real victory is facing the battles it takes to just get into position for a win. Life is not about making it the finish line first..........
For in the end the great truth will have been learned, that the quest is greater than what is sought, the effort finer than the prize, or rather than the effort is the prize, the victory cheap and hollow were it not for the rigor of the game.

Tomac
One of America's finest ever bicycle racers was Tomac. I can learn off of his incredible riding style. One of my greatest moments was going head to head against the legend on the slalom at Snowqualime in Washington. "Johnie T" went on to beat Cully, Me, Bart McDaniel, Palmer, and Lopes on his way to the National slalom crown. That was maybe the hardest draw ever for a dual slalom winner, and Tomac showed his true greatness that day. Racing Tomac was a honor for me and I continue to feed off of my racing against him. In the end, "Tomes" and I became friends.
