It Will Come Together..........

I will keep on working to improve. I know it will all come together with hard work.

Hard Riding

It was 3 hours of riding tonight. Some seriously hard climbing up San Juan Grade Road and Fremont Peak. My favorite climb is Fremont Peak, and the view of the sunset when at the very peak was amazing tonight. Then I rode extremely hard the entire way home.

Today's Race

I tried hard in today's race, but still felt like I lacked some power. I did not get too frustrated, and just took a beating and finished. I so much wanted to race stronger, but I have to keep fighting to improve and get my legs going well.

I also tried the single speed race, and had fun, but had a front flat.

I am looking forward to another chance to race!

Riding Time

Spent some good time in the saddle doing many hills on the Tuesday night ride today. It was much climbing and much spinning of the legs. I am looking forward to racing and suffering through the pain. I simply want to push myself as hard as possible in race situations.

I am looking forward to the next race.

Fortune Favors the Brave

I just want a chance to compete. A chance to test myself under the most demanding circumstances. A chance to fight for my destiny in competition. If the race is not going great, I will keep working toward a great race in the future. I will not back down from a challenge. And I will fight with all my strength to produce the best.

Going Up..........

It was some serious hills on my climbing recovery ride today. My throat was still sore from my breathing problems in the last race. But when I was climbing I felt really relaxed and had good turn in the legs. I climbed 2 of the most difficult hills in this area this afternoon. I rode at a fast pace but was able to feel very comfortable going uphill. My power is getting better for sure, and the legs are turning over at a rapid rate. I am ready to dig in deep for the fight this coming Sunday in San Francisco.

Comeback

How you comeback from set backs, is a gift I am blessed with. I might have a bad race, but a bad result is only a stepping stone to a great ride in the future.

I just want to race hard. I want to be in the mix. This is my desire when the start whistle is sounded.

I Gave It A Go~

I felt really good the first 2 laps of The Central Coast Cross Series race #3. Then I got a bad patch, but still kept trying my best. In the end all the dust really affected my breathing, and I could not get past it all. Not the result I wanted, but at least I kept fighting and did not fully collapse. I know I will get better. This particular race, a new venue at Laguna Seca Raceway, put me under a lot of stress being the promoter. Yet I really liked the course and there were times when I had good sensations in the legs. I felt ill all week leading up to the race, so I know I have some good rides still out there for the taking when I feel more relaxed. I really have a strong desire to race so much harder then I was able to today.

Letting Go.........

It is only positive affirmations for me.

No matter what, I will keep the positivity flowing. And let go of anything negative that might slow me down.

Cyclocross

The course at Laguna Seca Raceway, for the Central Coast Series #3, is going to be very challenging. It is exactly how I designed it to be.

Working On The Steep Stuff

Today it was a few hours on the road bike working on climbing very steep hills. I was working on my power and my cadence going up some of the most steep climbs in this area. Some of my efforts were very hard, and some of my efforts were controlled and steady. This work on climbing up the steep stuff will pay off in future races.

Mind Over Matter

In the most difficult spots during the race, I must keep everything relaxed and breath. When it is most difficult, is where I excel.

Relaxing On The Climb

Today it was 3 hours on the Road bike. Easy tempo riding with lots of climbing. I am working on keeping very relaxed on the climbs. Staying focused and relaxed, keeping patient, and positive thinking are key to having excellent races. Another key is keeping the breathing relaxed. And taking deep breaths, to get the oxygen deep into my lungs. These small elements will add up to high chances of success for myself.

Training

It will be a weekend of training. It is time to focus on refining my form, and getting myself better, stronger, and faster.

Laguna Seca Cross Course

The course for CCCX #3 at Laguna Seca I am really liking. It will be very demanding and selective. There will be a chance for me to make the race as difficult and hard as possible on the other riders. The terrain will give me this chance.

All I want is a chance to make it as hard as possible.

I need to wait until the right moment. Then make it as hard as possible.

Spinning On The Climbs

It was 3 hours of riding for me on the Tuesday group ride. I did many climbs and kept the legs spinning up the hills. I also mixed in some hard surges and power pedaling for good measure. I like to climb on Tuesday nights, and I work on riding relaxed.
