Tuesday Night Ride

Night rides are in action this time of year, under the lights. 10-29-07 Monday went for 2:30 recovery ride. 10-30-07 Tuesday did 2:30 of steady riding under the bright beam of my helmet light. Climbed to top of Pebble Beach 3 times, via A climb - B climb - then Poppy Hills climb. I want to improve and get better.

Surf City Race 10/28/07

I tried hard, but never felt good. Maybe the first 6 minutes I was ok, but then I just went backwards. This was a good course for me, but not a good day for my legs. I really wanted to race well, but it never happened. I need to look forward and stay positive.

Intervals-then Recovery

Did 3 hours steady on the road bike tonight- 10-23-07

Pumped out some hard intervals during the ride, and took part in some good climbing.

Now I need recovery- and to be sharp for the race on Sunday.

It is very important to keep positive and ride as hard as possible.

if I get tight in the legs and breathing or down mentally, I must stay positive- and relax and let my riding do the rest.

Racing- It is hard and challenging- but, It is fun, and it is what I do!

Cyclocross

I know I can improve. Things might not always work out as I like, but I can improve and eventually the work and improvement will pay off.

Races on Oct. 20-21, 2007

Saturday I won the overall at the 1st race of the Fresno Cyclocross Series. I liked the course, it was really dry and loose, and there were some new sections used. It was extra nice as there was a good cash payout for the win. This was my #42 win for this year, my best year ever so far. Then in Los Angeles, on Sunday, I had a flat. I did learn lessons at both races............

I must fight hard, and never-ever-ever give up.

Intervals

Did 4 hours on the road bike and some intervals yesterday. 2 minutes super hard uphill, 2 minutes recover, and then again and again, until I do 6 sets of 2 minutes full on. It is very interesting how far I can push myself. I am finding out much about getting the legs going and pushing farther and relaxing more during the intense moments. I must relax the jaw and the breathing during these hard efforts.
