CCCX #3

The course is set for CCCX #3 and it is one of the best courses ever for a CCCX XC event. There is a new section of trail I have been working on. It includes berms, some incredible turns, and is a true pleasure to ride.

I am ready to race.

TBF XC WIN

Pouring rain, heavy wind, no breaks at all on my bike for the final 2 laps. This was just some of the action taking place at race #2 of the Total Body Fitness XC Series in Folsom. The conditions were some of the worst I have ever raced in. Yet I was always at the front of the race, sometimes alone, other times in a group. In the end it came down to me bouncing off a tree because I had no breaks to stop with. Getting back up, fighting back up to the front of the race with only 1 mile to go, and then claiming the win in the final stretch. There was so much mud, wet sand, & water to race through. The riding was super technical in the bad weather and no breaks for the final 2 laps. I had to fight brutally hard, while never giving up, and at the finish line I was the overall winner!

Dedication

It is non stop dedication that will allow me a chance to race as I dream of racing.

TBF Race This Sunday

It is going to be wet and wild this Sunday in Sacramento at the TBF Series XC event. I like racing at this venue in bad weather, and have learned to be prepared for difficult racing conditions.

I must relax, stay calm, and keep positive. It is so crucial to not lose focus and to always keep positive. Always!

Me Climbing

One thing I like to do is climb hills and grades on the bicycle. It is where I want to excel on the bicycle. When the roads go up is where I am most comfortable. I am always trying to improve my climbing.

The Best Of You

It is so important to keep the mind in the right place, and right focus. To achieve the best of myself, I need to keep the fire burning inside to perform my best. While keeping my mind trained to not lose focus and dwell on things that are not important in the moment.

Technique

I am working on spinning the legs with a reverse pedal style at high cadence. I am trying to do quality training instead of simple quantity. I am trying to also do strong interval sessions. I am trying to do surges on most rides, even on my easy days to keep the muscles and legs in constant form.

Never Satisfied

I want to continue to progress, and continue to become better when I race- stronger when I race- faster when I race.

This past weekend I won the Expert 35+ Division at the CCCX #2 event.

Today I did 2 hours steady on the road bike trying to spin the legs and pump out a few hard sprint efforts along the way.

CCCX #2

The course is set and the racing is going to be very fast.
I have to dig super deep and remember it is mind over matter. I am a racer and it is time to race.

Clear Mind

It is very important to not be distracted from one's dream. It is very important to not be brought down by things, issues, or people that personally I can not change. I must keep focused and stay positive.

Armstrong

For me, Armstrong is pure animal when it comes to fighting on the bike. He is someone I learn from and someone who shows me how I should ride.

Active Recovery

The legs felt really sore and tired after the race on Sunday.

Monday I did 2 hours on the road bike at a steady tempo. I also did some climbs and surges uphill. It was good to get the legs spinning and doing some solid recovery riding.

Then today I did some trail work and had some good active recovery while pushing a shovel.

I am focused on recovery and rest, combined with self massage and proper food intake.
