Uphill Riding

Today it was some good climbing sessions up some good hills. Tomorrow it will be rest and recovery. I really am making gains and ready to race harder then ever.

The mountains are so good for me to workout when cycling.

It is where I ride and what I do.

It makes me stronger and a more complete cyclists.

I am getting better, stronger, and faster.

This Weekends Race

I am really looking forward to this weekends race. I like the course at Folsom Lake and am very eager to race as hard as possible.

I Ride The Mountains~

When possible I will ride hills and mountains. I ride Fremont Peak, Robinson Canyon, Mt Hamilton, Sierra Road, Mt Diablo, or any hills and peaks I can find.

I ride the mountains, it is what I do.

My Race

I have to focus on my race.

Working Hard~

Stretching, massage, high quality food intake, recovery, rest, positive thinking, super hard efforts in training, visualizing success, dreaming of miracles, love of the fight, wanting more and never being satisfied. All of this combined with working hard to be better, stronger, and faster, will take me to how I want to race.

CHAMPION

TO BE A CHAMPION, YOU MUST RISK ALL.

I went for broke today at the Early Bird Patterson Road Race, and instead my front spoke broke with 4 miles to go. I was off the front, with a 25 second lead when it happened. There were only 4 miles to go in the race and it looked as if I was on my way to a win.

I am riding well, and ready to fight.

Road Race

It has been really cold and raining the last few days, and tomorrow is a Road Race up into the high mountains. I plan on racing.

Focus~

I must focus on my race.

Of course I have to read the way a race is going, and know who to watch and when to react during the race.

What I can control most is my race.

I must focus on myself and keep positive always.

Even when I am not racing I must not lose focus on my goals and racing dreams.

I must keep focused when riding and I must keep focused when I am off the bike and needing recovery.

To keep focus is most important for me.

Climbing & Recovery

Monday and Tuesday were some good climbing sessions for me. Monday it was steady climbing, and Tuesday night it was harder efforts. Now I need some rest and recovery and to get my muscles some rehabilitation. I need to stay focused and positive and I need to only think of getting better and stronger and faster.

Fresno Cyclocross Final

Picked up 2 wins at the Fresno Series Final. I was the overall series winner and also the ABR National 40-45 winner. Brian Lopes showed up and we did some practice together, then battled it out for the overall race win. That boy has some serious skills and strength. It came down to 4 of us in the break for the win- me, Steve Ray, Sam Ames, and Lopes. I chased down a last lap move from Steve Ray, and took the lead with 4 turns to go. But caught a pedal on a off camber turn and this bog down let Lopes squeeze by, and he held it to the line. Lopes is a good friend and a great rider. I had to seize the moment, but slipped up. I must improve, and get better, and work harder, and train harder.

Riding Uphill With A Tailwind~

It was two times up Sierra Road in San Jose today. I felt better on the hill and had better climbing form. This was partly because I feel stronger and more relaxed going uphill. Yet also partly because there was a huge wind in San Jose, and it turned out to be a tailwind up the hill for me. The wind pushing me up the hill always helps! I did feel better going uphill today then the last time up that super steep climb. My times were 33:00 and 31:00. I was working steady both times up, and the second time up I went really steady and gave it a solid push. My times on the last time up were like a 38:00 and 35:30.

Mountains

It is the mountains where my riding meets my destiny.
